Arrampica PPE Check Service

Following legislation, guidelines set by the HSE and recommendations made by equipment manufacturers on correct practice with regard to checking of PPE used for work at height and other equipment, Arrampica has launched a new service for customers.

The site-specific schemes that Arrampica runs include some skills for checking of equipment - however, in line with current guidelines the thorough checking of equipment needs to be far more in depth, and must be carried out every six months minimum.

Bi-Annual Service

• Initial visit to appropriately and individually mark up each piece of equipment.
• 6-monthly visit by Arrampica to check equipment, dispose of old and mark up/register new equipment.
• Ongoing paper log kept in file at each Arrampica customer's site, updated after each visit and back-up computerised files retained by Arrampica via the Petzl PPE checking system.
• Arrampica staff trained, assessed and independently validated to Certificate of Compliance.

Arrampica in association with Hang Fast will also check your wall and its fixtures for fitting once a year (more if you so require), carry out a structural report and make recommendations where appropriate.

The cost of this service is an annual charge, split as follows:

Per Annum

• 2x equipment check visits, one day every 6 months £720.00 no VAT
• x1 annual inspection, recommendation and certification £650.00 + VAT
• Binder supplied and paperwork updated £50.00 no VAT
• Total Per Annum Charge - £1420.00 + VAT @ £113.75

Note: The single day gear check twice per annum is based on a small gear store, for large equipment stores of 20 harnesses, helmets or more, this cost would need to increase appropriately, call Arrampica for details.
